How much Danbo merchandise do I own? The answer, at this point in time, and probably for eternity until I either expire or become incapacitated, is “not enough”. Action figures. Keychains. Mugs. Assembly kits. Slips. Postcards. Portable chargers. Even a functional, authentic cosplay. If it’s possible for me to obtain it, I’m sure as fucking hell going to get it. Within limits. I don’t have a job, you see, so I have to be patient with my collection.
It just hits me now that I have a collection going on.
Oh god no.
Right now I’ve set my sights on Nyanbo, but I’m not quite sure how to approach it. I’m definitely starting with the anime. That is a for-sure thing. I almost regret not watching it as it aired, since the simple, short nature of the show is Totally My Thing.
Someday I’m going to start thinking up what color pattern I should use to make a cosplay for it (Currently I’m thinking the calico pattern is reasonable enough). If it’s going to be anything like my current cosplay, though, it’s going to be both expensive and time-consuming. And I’ll have to go through the extensive trouble to find the right parts again. It took me hours to even come up with a viable solution for the eye lights and how that electrical system worked. Now that the parts for that are discontinued, as I’ve tried looking for them again to no avail, I have to find a new way to make them. It’s going to suck. Again.
But hey, if I was willing to spend the time and energy on a high quality cosplay that will last me quite a few years, there’s no issue doing another one. In my mind, at least. The only thing I’m really worried about is that it’s going to take up even more space in storage. Shit’s huge, as you can see.
I bought a working Z-ring on impulse so now I’m obligated to make a Pokemon Sun/Moon trainer cosplay as well. At least for that one I only have to spend tons of money on the latest designer clothing and smile all the goddamn time and constantly eyefuck everyone I pass. And also memorize and accurately perform all the Z-move dances with all the relevant Pokemon. That’s actually not too bad by my standards.
Those are my two cosplay goals for both Fanime and Anime Expo 2017. Hopefully I’ll be able to drive by then, and hopefully I can get something cheap in terms of rooming. But those things will be part of a conversation I’ll be having a lot later in the year.
